Paramount Business Jets encourages donated flight hours for Haiti

24-Jan-2010

Unimaginable destruction, tattered infrastructure and catastrophic losses are just some of the problems facing Haiti in the wake of the January 12th earthquake. With many global efforts being conducted to deliver aid, supplies and help to the country, Paramount Business Jets has also begun the process of developing and managing aid assistance to the stricken nation.

In collaboration with The Jean Cadet Restavek Foundation, Paramount Business Jets is encouraging operators to donate flight hours in an effort to further assist the relief efforts undertaken by this remarkable organization. Founded in 2007 by Jean-Robert, The Jean Cadet Retavek Foundation was formed to bring an end to child servitude in Haiti. The Foundation provides direct relief and education opportunities for children in Restavek, advocates for these children throughout Haiti and raises global awareness of the system. The Restavek Foundation was officially named a Clinton Global Initiative commitment in September 2009 for its new area of focus - human trafficking.

Despite its past achievements, the organization is now focusing on aiding relief efforts in the wake of Haiti’s massive earthquake. All aircraft planning to depart to Haiti must have authorization/clearance to land in Port-au-Prince. At the present moment PAP airport has 17 slots per day for aircrafts arriving from the US, all of which must have Military, Department of Homeland Security and State Department clearance.

Other options available to those operators that are interested in aiding the relief efforts would be to fly into Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic or Les Cayes, Haiti. Currently, the organization is searching for operators that have an ability to pick up supplies (water, water purification systems, fuel) from Cincinnati, Ohio and that are willing or able to offer their services for free, or at a significantly reduced prices. Paramount Business Jets is currently offering to manage and handle relief flights to and from Haiti and is working with operators and the Restavek Foundation to ensure the delivery of aid to the stricken city of Port-au-Prince.

With 100% of the public’s contributions going directly to assist in the relief efforts of schools and children, Paramount Business Jets encourages all operators to consider donating flight time if possible. Anyone interested in assisting relief efforts or donating flight time please feel free to contact Christine Lee Buchholz, Board Member, Jean Cadet Restavek Foundation at +1 (513) 205.4464. Paramount Business Jets' CEO, Richard Zaher, can also be contacted for more information at +1 (877) 727.2538 or richard@paramountbusinessjets.com.
