ProJet announces new FBO at Leesburg Executive Airport

31-Jan-2010

CharterX Professional member ProJet Aviation, a Metro-DC area aircraft management and air charter company, has opened a new corporate aviation facility at Leesburg Executive Airport (JYO). The facility features over 25,000 square feet of hangar and office space, and fuel services for corporate aircraft. The Leesburg expansion will complement ProJet’s existing flight operations in Winchester and Manassas.

“We are pleased to announce our expansion into the Dulles marketplace, with Leesburg as our newest community partner,” said Shye Gilad, President of ProJet Aviation. “With this new location ProJet can offer the most competitive hangar and fuel rates in the region, and convenient access to Northern Virginia and Washington, DC.”

The Leesburg Executive Airport has direct access off the Greenway (VA route 267), and an aggressive growth plan to include a runway extension, additional hangars, and an aircraft control tower.

ProJet will base four aircraft, two of which are owned by Sheila Johnson’s companies, including a long range Gulfstream G-IV Jet and the efficient Piaggio Avanti II turboprop at Leesburg. The latter two aircraft are available for charter, and the G-IV will be the largest aircraft based at Leesburg.

“ProJet is exactly the type of company that can help stimulate economic expansion, and attract new users to our airport,” said Leesburg Airport Manager Timothy Dieke. “ProJet’s presence at Leesburg Executive will provide a valuable transportation option to local travelers, bring additional jobs, and demand for ancillary services, which is exactly what makes business aviation so vital to our economy and our community.”
